The Florida-based manufacturer has confirmed it is in direct communication with British Skydiving and is actively supporting the regulatory body's investigation. Aerodyne stated it will continue to monitor the situation closely as new findings emerge.
The Icon container system, offered in 13 sizes, has been in continuous service for more than 20 years across sport, student, and military skydiving operations worldwide. Aerodyne noted that the system continues to meet all applicable certification requirements, including FAA TSO-C23d.
Regarding the temporary grounding, Aerodyne directed all enquiries to British Skydiving as the responsible authority overseeing the measure. For clarity, this grounding has been issued by British Skydiving in its capacity as the national governing body and does not represent a grounding by Aerodyne Research.
